Sun and Soil, Water and Worms, Plants and Pesticides…and HEMP

Standard

I am no expert. I have never been a farmer. I don’t even garden much. So why would I know anything about the Earth/Plant life cycle?  It has to do with worms. I actually worked as a salesman for a worm co-op at one point. I would arrange lectures about worms, the potential of worm castings (manure from worms) and the market demand for organic fertilizers. During my events, I would often have guest biologists from local universities come and give a sort of ‘Soils 101’ for guests. So here it is, for what it’s worth, the best a lay-person such as myself can recall.

Soil is not Dirt.

Dirt is dead. It is crushed minerals broken down through the forces of nature. Soil is alive! It is a rich panoply of micro-organism and vegetable matter in various stages of decay. Good farmland is made up mostly of soil. As vegetable matter decays it is broken down by animals, insects, nematodes and micro-organisms. The by-product of this process are the deposits of nutrients that plant roots need. Thus the cycle of life. Plants grow, they are eaten or broken down by nature, which results in decay which feeds smaller living organisms, which produce the nutrients needed by plants to grow.

The Sun and Water

The sun is the primary energy source which drives this process. Water is the conveyance of this cycle. You can think of the sun like sipping through a straw. When the sun hits the plants, it “sips” the water which causes it to come up through the roots and stem. The genetics of the plant, combined with sunlight and water cause leaf and fruit and oils and seeds and everything else the plant produces. The plant puts off oxygen and more and then animals and insects can feed.

Worms

Worms are the multiplier of this effect. Worms do ingest particles of soil, but they aren’t really “eating” the soil. The process that takes place in a worm is that it feeds on the fungi and microbes attached to that particle of soil and they incubate life for the micro-organisms that benefit from this process. What comes out of a worm is that same particle of soil now coated a rich biology of life-giving nutrients for plant roots. They turn the soil, aerate the soil and cause the soil to retain water closer to the surface where plant roots can reach it

Pesticides, Chemical Fertilizers and Growth Agents

In our industrialized age, we have invented an abundance of chemistry to “help” with plant production. We can grow crops faster, larger, deeper in color and more resistant to weeds, disease and pests. Unfortunately, many of the chemicals we use today actually kill the soil, kill the worms, and turn our soil into Dirt. Each year, more of the chemicals are now needed to continue plant production. The larger, more colorful vegetables and fruits are now only hollow shells with greatly reduced nutrient content compared to the produce of generations past. We need to eat much more of the fruits and vegetables to get even a portion of the nutrients that used to be available in the slower, uglier produce grown naturally. The farmland is burning out (partly because there are no longer any worms in it), and farmers are now dependent on chemical fertilizers – much like an addict becomes dependent on what makes him sick – lest the farmers go bankrupt for having no crops.

Hemp

Hemp is not the cure-all for this vicious cycle we have got ourselves into, but it can help. Hemp outpaces weeds, is naturally pest resistant and grows at amazing rates without chemical enhancement. Best of all, it produces one of the most human-friendly crops on Earth. Hemp seeds, oils and leaves are amazingly great for human consumption and entire civilizations have had hemp as a staple since mankind has walked the Earth. Additionally, hemp crops provide a restorative component to damaged soils. It can be used as an alternative crop in rotation for wheat and for cotton to “rest” the soil. Hemp is even being grown around Chernobyl to help restore irradiated soil.

There is much to do in getting the word out about all the great benefits of hemp. For now we are trying to combat the propaganda and monetize the movement by giving it a pay plan. If you are interested in learning more about that, join me at http://www.ProfitFromHemp.com

Hemp Uses

Modern uses for the Hemp Plant are growing exponentially. The good news seems to be growing as quickly as a field of green (hemp) grass. The movement toward a more intelligent, more Earth friendly, more beneficial and more profitable approach toward this wonder-plant is picking up steam. A Mind full of “Weed”s

Standard

I recently read a post on Facebook: “Don’t let your own thoughts be the force that stops you”.

My first reaction was to argue with this logic and say (to myself) “My thoughts are what drive me, not what stops me.” Then I realized there is real truth to the idea that our own thoughts can stop us as often as they motivate us.

Consider the case of Dr. Sanjay Gupta, M.D.. Dr Gupta is associate chief of neurosurgery at Grady Memorial Hospital, a best selling author, a medical adviser to the White House, an Emmy Award winning broadcast journalist and the chief medical correspondent for CNN, and was named by FORBES Magazine in 2011 “one of the 10 most influential celebrities”. Yet, in spite of his extreme accomplishments and obvious belief in medical research, he too was subject to allowing his own thoughts, beliefs and prejudices stand in his way (at least temporarily).

In 2009 Dr. Gupta came out publicly against patient access to medical marijuana. Yet, beginning in 2011 he reversed his position and has been a proponent of CBD-based treatments ever since. He reported that he had initially listened too closely to critics and had not done the proper research. Now, after traveling the world and investigating the extensive research being done revealing the medical benefits of cabbibidoil (CBD) Dr. Gupta has produced two documentaries highlighting the enormous medical benefits available to mankind and the barriers that have limited patient access to CBD-based treatments.

Now consider this, if this brilliant and accomplished man could be limited for a time by his own beliefs, could mine? Could yours? The reality is that we are all susceptible to negative and limiting ideas from time to time. Our field of beneficial thoughts can get crowded out by the ‘weeds’ of prejudice against (or for) something or by fear or doubt. I don’t want my own thoughts to be the force that stops me from reaching new possibilities, from unconditional love for others, from success in my business or in any area of possibility in my life.

I believe in the benefits of CBD, something that I initially was closed to just as Dr. Gupta was. I believe in the benefits of Hemp fiber, seeds and plant as well. I believe in the benefits to our economy, to our government and to all of mankind and the planet itself.

I also believe in the network marketing business model. I believe in it’s power to create synergy, it’s core value of success for all and in it’s unyielding foundation of success based on positive mindset.

If we can tend to the garden of our thoughts, uproot the prejudice, eradicate the fear and eliminate the doubt – then there will be no limit to what we can accomplish together!

Easter, Rebirth and Hemp

Standard

Ok, The Hemp Industry never actually died, it has just been hibernating for many years here in the West. Since the season is Spring and today is Easter I have been thinking a lot about renewal, rebirth and things that come alive once more. Ice melts into flowing rivers and streams, hibernating animals begin their foraging once more and dormant plants begin to bloom again. We celebrate the rebirth of Christ, we watch with wonder as animals brigng forth their young and we kindle new romances as we begin to congregate outdoors once more.

In the same way, Hemp as an industry is entering a rebirth here in the U.S.. After many years of illegalization, misinformation and smear campaigns, a new birth of education, discovery and awareness is upon us. Hemp is now legal to culstivate once more, research about the medical benefits of CBD oils is growing exponentially and new products derived from this wonder plant are popping up like flowers everywhere!

The prospects seems limitless and the movement seems strong to those of us who are working inside the industry, however I know that I may still encournter good people who are still having to thaw out some Wintery misconceptions. No worries and no hurries. I find it hard to be anything short of thrilled while basking in the warmth of so much new and positive light in this industry.

If you want to come along for the ride and discover some of the new products coming from wonderful, healthful CBD oils – including healing balms, vaporizers, beauty products and even a healthy alternative to energy drinks – the discover our company at http://www.ProfitFromHemp.com. I will see you there.

Misconceptions of Hemp and MLM

Standard

Wow, these two words get a reaction on their own, but what happens when you put them together? Boom!

First, Hemp.

Hemp is not POT. I keep telling my church friends, my co-workers and my family that I am not a dope head. But there has been so much cross-over and misinformation regarding hemp and marijuana, that it may still take a while for people to get comfortable with the different terms. Hemp is a plant in the same family of plants as marijuana, but they are not the same. Just like there are many different plants in the cactus family, for example, there are different plants in the “Setivia” family of plants, including Hemp and Marijuana. Hemp is high in a healthful oil called cannibidoil. Marijuana also contains CBD, but it is high in THC, which causes the “high”. Marijuana is illegal and mind altering, Hemp (high CBD) is not psychoactive and is legal everywhere.

Next, MLM

MLM stands for multilevel marketing, now commonly known as network marketing. MLM is really just a way of structuring pay for salesmen in the direct selling industry. A salesman can earn commissions on sales he personally makes, but he can also earn override commissions on the total volume of sales made by other salespersons he recruits for the company, thus on multiple levels (multi-level-marketing). Early on, before tight regulation, MLM was associated with Ponzi Schemes and Pyramid Schemes. In Pyramid schemes a new recruit could outwork his recruiter, but never pass them up in terms of position or commissions since the pay structure did not allow for that possibility. This resulted in recruiters becoming lazy and collecting checks based on their recruit’s sales without any further effort of their own. Pay structures (called compensation plans) are now reviewed for compliance and allow for a more fluid structure so that the real workers can rise to the top and surpass their recruiters.

Ponzi Schemes exist when there is no real end product to sell to anyone outside of the network. For example, you may have seen those ads where you get paid $25 for every email you “process”? The $25 comes from someone who wants to pay for the program to learn how to collect the $25 for processing emails. You see? There is no real product, but only a cycle of people posting ads and collecting fees from people who want to learn to post the same ads and collect the same fees. No real product is produced or sold. In MLM Ponzi Schemes (which are illegal) salesmen are paid a fee from new recruits signing up rather than on the sale of product.

With careful regulation, MLM (or Network Marketing) has now become a common and accepted distribution structure for thousands of products all over the world. It is taught at Harvard Business School and heavy-hitters such as Robert Kiyosaki, Warren Buffet, Donald Tump and many more either promote, fund or outright own MLM companies.

I have finally discovered a Network Marketing company that is combining the best of high-CBD products and MLM. Kannaway is my new home. If you would like to learn more about how to get paid on multiple levels and have access to the best high-CBD lifestyle products, you can find out more for free at http://www.ProfitFromHemp.com.
